About Us
Our advisory firm has two principals, Glen J. Martin and David S. Hunter,
who incorporated in 2007 to establish Horizons Wealth Management.

Glen J. Martin
has over nine years of industry experience (NAPFA member). From
2003 to 2006, he owned and operated a fee-only financial advisory
firm. He has a BS (Management)
from the US Air Force Academy and a MBA (Finance) from Colorado State University.
He earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) certification in
2002. Glen has also served as a financial planning instructor for Western Carolina
University.
Glen and Christine, his wife of seventeen years, live with their four
children in their mountain home near Asheville, North Carolina. In
addition to parenting their children, they are active in their local
church where he served for several years as youth minister and is
active in youth activities. Glen’s recreational interests include
playing softball, running, reading 20th century history, historical
fiction, and legal thrillers.
David S. Hunter
has over seven years of fee-only advisory experience. He has served as the primary advisor and office manager for North
and South Carolina.
He has a BSBA in Finance (Financial Planning) from Western Carolina University,
where he currently serves on the Finance Advisory Board. David attended
Western on a full athletic scholarship to play quarterback for the
Catamounts. He
earned his CFP® certification in July of 2004.
David was married in July 2002, to Misty, who is an English teacher
employed with Buncombe County Schools. They are expecting their
first child in September of this year. David is an outgoing individual
and enjoys working with people. What he enjoys most about Horizons
Wealth Management is the true “team” atmosphere, as well,
as building lasting relationships with clients. David resides in
Western North Carolina where he was born and raised. He enjoys spending
time with family and friends, reading mystery
novels, and participating in sports such as golf, basketball and other
physical fitness activities. David is a loyal football fan and
frequently attends high school, college, and professional ballgames.
